LO4 Feedback changes

After reviewing the feedback I decided to change and add a couple things to my stroyboard to adhere to the criticism given.

This is a intro scene for the storyboard. This scene is to help give the audience a short introduction to the story without giving anything away. It also helps set the tone for the character without breaking the Mad Men aesthetic.

This change was based upon the criticism that work wasn't enough mine. I decided to implement an example of colour and how the art style should be finally presented. This decision was based upon introducing a unique feature to the graphic novel that would be entirely my creative choice. This art style is based on 1950s magazine art aesthetic which also ties into the period drama genre for the magazine.

LO4 Review feedback

Five people were asked to review my presentation and product adaption. The following are the answers given.

After reviewing the feedback given I can say that on average the answers given were positive. For question one where I asked whether the creative product was a good choice, I was given a yes as the average excluding the not sure results, however I did receive a single no answer. On question two I asked whether the audience thought the idea for the product was original and interesting. I got a strong Yes response to this question. The third question asked whether based on the storyboard does the adaption look promising. I received a mostly Yes answer for this one as well. I also received many not sure and maybe results. The fourth question was whether the idea seemed feasible from the information given. This question got a majority Yes answer, with one person voting maybe and one person voting not sure. question five was a written question where I asked the reviewers to give me their thoughts on the idea and presentation. Question five is the most important because it allows for direct feedback from the audience. The results of this question where mostly positive statement about the idea being chosen well and how it seems interesting. There was a negative response as predicted however this negative response stated that the idea was feasible.
Overall after reviewing this feedback I could make changes to the storyboard in the following ways. Add a pretext opening scene to help define the identity of mad men, to assist with the new comers in the audience. Change the art style a bit to help give the graphic novel my personal style and make it my own.

LO1 Exploring possible adaptions

Mad Men

A) Suitability for new medium

Mad Men is a long running television series aired on the AMC network. It is an American period drama. Mad Men has been running in the medium of TV episodes since 2007 and ended in 2015. This means Mad Mens fan base would be ready for a reboot or another medium for Mad Men. This makes Mad Men very suitable for a new medium.  I think that a medium such as graphic novel could be very suitable for a Mad Men.

B). Possible constraints and opportunities

Constraints
To adapt Mad Men there would be the possible constraint of permissions from AMC as it is one of there most popular television series' they are unlikely to just allow anyone to make adaptions. Another constraint could be Mad Men's period setting, this will make the production of a graphic novel more difficult as there would have to be a lot more research into settings and objects.

As Mad Men is a television series it is already set up in the schedule of episodes which is an opportunity as that would make production of a graphic novel series a lot simpler. Another opportunity could be that the audience of the original could help create a solid foundation for an audience of the adaption.

C). Target audience

The target audience for Mad Men is men and women of any ethnicity and of A,B,C1 demographic. Mad Men fan base would be the majority of the target audience, however it would also include first time readers who have never seen Mad Men. This target audience is both rewarding for the adaption and the original as when someone new to Mad Men, reads the adaption they may want to watch the TV series and people who have finished the TV series may want to go and read the adaption.
